About the Former Tidewater MGP and Power Plant Facility

The former Tidewater Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) and Power Plant site (“site”) is an approximately 23-acre property located  at the ends of Tidewater and Merry Streets in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. It is bordered by the Seekonk River to the east.

The property is now largely vacant with the exception of an active natural gas regulating station, located on the northwest portion of the site, and an active switching station and electric substation, located on the central portion of the site. The site is secured with a locked perimeter chain-link fence.
